Our client, a highly regarded international firm, has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced law firm risk and compliance professional.

As a key member of the firm’s senior leadership team you will work closely with the firm’s CEO and Chair and have overall responsibility for the firm’s regulatory compliance and risk management.

The role will involve advising the CEO and Chair on all matters of internal governance, as trusted advisor to the firm, including managing the firm’s members agreement. You will be leading an established team with responsibility for the firm’s policies and procedures concerning ethics and governance matters. With overall responsibility for risk & compliance, you will influence and lead the implementation of risk and compliance related strategy across the global firm, developing a risk aware culture in line with the CEO’s prioritisation of risk appetite.

As part of the senior leadership team, other key responsibilities will include briefing the risk committee, playing a central role in the development of the firm’s responsible business and ESG strategy, supporting the partnership HR team and managing the firm’s structures, such as entities through which it operates, opening new offices, mergers and other transactions.

Our client is looking for a highly experienced law firm risk and compliance specialist for this important appointment. It is a prerequisite that you have extensive experience of working within the General Counsel function of a leading firm, preferably at or close to General Counsel level and have experience of international risk and compliance matters.

Our client is looking for someone with the personality and credibility to work effectively with colleagues at all levels across the firm and to lead, motivate and develop an already strongly performing team of risk and compliance specialists.
