Our client is a leading UK law firm which is genuinely something a bit different. The firm is highly regarded for its work and whilst already well established, it nonetheless retains the entrepreneurial and innovative approach which was crucial to its success when it launched and remains core to its culture today. The firm is offering an outstanding opportunity for someone to lead its compliance function and manage compliance across the firm. Reporting to the firm’s COO and COLP, you will have the opportunity to provide strategic input into the management and development of the compliance function, as well as playing a key part on the firm’s risk committee and overseeing the client onboarding team. The role will involve keeping the firm up to date on SRA matters and AML developments, performing risk assessments, developing and updating relevant policies and procedures and developing and managing AML, anti-bribery, data protection and other compliance training.

Our client is ideally looking for someone who has developed this experience with another leading law firm and has strong experience of SRA regulatory matters, as well as knowledge and understanding of AML, financial crime and sanctions. The firm is looking for someone with personality and business acumen, who can establish credibility and rapport with people at all levels within the firm. They are also looking for someone who will seize this opportunity to lead and recognise the potential of the role; the career prospects are there for the right person.

This is an outstanding opportunity for someone who is looking to step up to their first leadership role in law firm risk and compliance or who is leading a team already and interested in a development opportunity with a really interesting firm.
