We are proud and excited to be working with a prestigious global automotive company to recruit a legal counsel to join the UK legal team. For this role we are ideally seeking an English qualified solicitor with experience in either litigation or commercial work. You should have a strong academic record and must have trained and qualified in a leading regional, national, or international law firm the UK. We are open minded about the type of litigation experience you have gained as long as you are able to demonstrate a sound understanding of disputes and court procedures. An understanding of or experience in handling commercial agreements is also advantageous. In any event, you will be supported and trained to ensure you can perform the role successfully.

The role will be supporting the company’s senior litigator covering a wide range of disputes from small claims and county court matters up to large, complex and lengthy commercial litigation. The matters may arise from disputed commercial terms, advertising and marketing complaints, disagreements relating to financial terms and compliance matters or personal injury, to list just a few. On the commercial side you will work alongside the Senior Legal Counsel to review and negotiate contracts relating to dealerships and franchise arrangements.

The role will suit somebody who is confident, personable, and keen to learn. You must be comfortable working in a hybrid environment and able to prioritise and manage your workload. You will encounter colleagues both within and outside of the legal team at all levels so strong communication skills are key.
